In the story of Jagannath temple, it is one of the major temples in India. The worship of lord Jagannatha is so ancient that there is no record of how long it has been going on. This temple is located on the eastern coast of India, at puri in the state of odisha.
The gods Jagannath, balabhadra and the goddess Subhadra are the main trinity of deities worshipped at the temple. In the puri temple, non – Hindus are strictly forbidden for to enter the Jagannatha temple. The temple is built in kalinga style architecture which is known by shrimandira. The lion gate is the main gate of temple, guarded by the two deities’ jaya and vijaya. It is from these huge chariots come. The millions of devotees attend ‘juggernaut’ festival every year.
Puri dham is known by the different names: purushottama-kshetra, nilachala-dhama, Jagannatha-dhama, yamanika- tirtha, nilagiri, narasimha-kshetra and sankha- kshetra.
