Kamadeva is the Hindu god and he is the god of love. It is an important story in the puranas, the mission that was assigned to him to stop lord Shiva’s penance that he started after the death of sati devi.
After the death of sati, in the Himalayas, lord Shiva entered into yogic penance and was no longer interested in the world.
According the situation, a demon tarakasur, son of vjranga and varangi taking an advantage and did tapasya and pleased lord brahma and got two boons. As the first boon that he asked to lord brahma to make him the most powerful man in the world and in the second one he sought his death should only happen at the hands Shiva son that he was born because he thinking that Shiva will never again marry.
After getting the boons, tarakasur started attacking the demi gods, saints and humans and defeated all the kings and devas and to control over earth and heaven. All the devas and saints sought refuge at the feet of brahma and told that to find the solution for this problem he told to bring back lord Shiva to the world. Brahma told them that goddess sati was reborn as goddess parvati and to get Shiva as her husband. But lord Shiva was not ready to stop his penance.
Brahma asked the gods to take the help of Kamadeva to stop the penance of lord Shiva. He came with rati Devi arrived in front of and five arrows of flowers shot at the heart of Shiva.
Shiva meditation was interrupted and in anger, his third eye was opened and burned Kamadeva into ashes. The arrows fell into river Ganga and the six child was born and these Childs were looked the krithiga stars and were joined to a single child by goddess parvati after her marriage with lord Shiva. This child named was kartik and he killed tarakasura. Shiva was later convinced regarding the intention of Kamadeva and he was later restored.
