It was the time when the Ram Rajya was established, one day Goddess Sita Mata wife of Lord Ram was applying Kumkum (Vermilion) to her fore head and he asked to Sita Mata why you are applying Kumkum to your forehead. Then Sita Mata told him that it was for the healthier and longer life of her husband Lord Ram, after listening to her, he went and applied the vermilion to his entire body, as he was the biggest devote of Rama. After applying he became orange and in Sanskrit Bajrang means orange and bali was attached because he was very strong. Once he lifted the whole mountain.
